That tall vase kept me on my toes, it took me a bit of noodling to get it to sit back and yet still have some light on the forms. This pure windowshading is a fun exercise but it can be nerve racking. My hats off to Scott Burdick and Jeffrey Larson for making it look easy. I'm breaking a few rules. My center of interest isn't on the right and it sits forward of the other objects. I'm also painting alla prima over a carefully worked up drawing, not really the way that alla prima is supposed to work, but it appears to be working out okay anyway.Sunday, January 2, 2011
