"Yellow Rose and Cast" 8"x10" oil on linen. This is the final version. I purposely kept most of the rose stem compressed and simplified so as not to detract from the center of interest. I also used more of an "earthy" green by mixing ultramarine blue with yellow ochre. It wasn't an exact match chromatically but it seem to fit the painting.Friday, July 2, 2010
